In the Berkeley Folk Music Festival Collection, one finds a rich trove of materials concerning Pete Seeger’s appearances at the Berkeley Folk Music Festival, beginning in 1958 and culminating in the final 1970 festival, which just celebrated its fiftieth anniversary.
Barry Olivier, the director of the BFMF, told me that he did not plan to hold the final 1970 event until Pete Seeger told him he wanted to perform at it. So in honor of Pete, a few glimpses of him at the Berkeley Folk Music Festival. There are many, many more!
