making a print program for the seldoms, exit disclaimer: science and fiction ahead.

Back in April, I brought The Seldoms Dance Company to Northwestern for Earth Day Week. The ensemble performed their work, Exit Disclaimer: Science and Fiction Ahead, which uses dance theater to probe the vexing political debate over climate change and the relationship between, on the one hand, what it means to know something intellectually and scientifically, and, on the other, what it means to do something about it politically. 

The fabulous graphic designer Sierra Lauren Korthof helped me to design a print program for the event. We wanted to mix imagery from the performance with text from the research notebook of Seldoms artistic director Carrie Hanson so that one might experience in print the interplay between process and production, the exploration of the topic and how it led to the bodies and movements on stage.

Of course we tried our best to use recycled paper and ink given the topic of the dance and to print a limited number of programs!
