a conversation about dance dramaturgy @ northwestern university, 12 May 2016, 6-7:30 pm.
Since 2012, I have served as dramaturg and historian-in-residence for The Seldoms as they develop dance theater works that use archival sources for movement-based collaborative inquiry into politics, social change, culture, and other topics. This work began through my cultural criticism blogging and has gone on to include historical consultation, collection and collation or archival materials, rehearsal participation, public and educational outreach in communities and on college campuses, and writing about the works for program notes and in other venues.
